Calling for Help – Ambulance? Police?
Have you ever had times when the person you care for has been so dysregulated that you worried for their safety, or yours? Did you wonder if you might need to call for an ambulance or the police? Two Mental Health Co-Responders were our guests in August.
Suicidal Ideation and Self Harm
I wish it was not so, but most people with BPD face a mental health crisis. We asked a psychologist to explain suicidal ideation and self harm. What can carers do in a mental health crisis?
BPD and PTSD
We watched "Understanding the intersection between BPD & PTSD" from Dr Skye Fitzpatrick
Occupational Therapy
Savannah Zielonka told us about Occupational Therapy and how it can help people who live with BPD.
Getting help in a mental health crisis (UMHCC)
For South Australians, Adelaide has an alternative to a Hospital Emergency Department in a mental health crisis. Call (08) 8448 9100 or ask the ambulance to take you there.
Emotion Dysregulation
Emotion dysregulation is a core symptom of borderline personality disorder, and a key contributor to the intensity and distress of the illness.
BPD and Substance Abuse
How does Substance Use impact Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)? What can be done to help someone struggling with addiction and BPD?
Staying Connected
The symptoms of BPD can be so very damaging to relationships. How can we stay connected, and continue towards recovery?
